Teleflex Medical Awarded Chest Drainage Agreement By Premier.


BANNOCKBURN, Ill. -- Teleflex Medical announced today that Premier Purchasing Partners, LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  (Charlotte, NC), the group purchasing organization A group purchasing organization is an entity that leverages the purchasing power of a group of businesses to obtain discounts from vendors based on the collective buying power of the GPO members. Many GPOs are funded by administrative fees that are actually paid by the vendors.  of Premier, Inc., awarded a dual-source agreement to Teleflex Medical for its complete line of Pleur-evac(R) chest drainage systems and thoracic catheters.

The three-year agreement began on March 1, 2006. Specific products included in the award are the Pleur-evac Sahara S-1100 dry series, Pleur-evac wet series and Pleur-evac high suction control series of products. "We are pleased that so many more healthcare providers will now have access to the original Pleur-evac system," says Matt Jennings, senior vice president and general manager of Teleflex Medical's Surgical Business Unit. "Pleur-evac is the market leader in dry-suction technology, and this agreement will make it more readily available to practitioners and patients."
