Inteleflex Offers Service Providers New Way to Handle Internet

Traffic Effectively and Competitively

Today TelStrat, a developer and manufacturer of globally distributed voice and data carrier and enterprise solutions, announced an Internet connectivity promotion offering customers FREE Dial-Up Data Routing UPM UPM Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

) system by May 31st, 2002 will receive their choice of a UPM or ADSL card for FREE. The Inteleflex(TM) MIAP, combined with the UPM or ADSL card, will enable local service providers in the carrier access market to expand and extend their networks cost-effectively.

"Inteleflex as a system does things that other systems simply cannot do, and this promotion highlights the superior flexibility and functionality that Inteleflex offers in terms of Internet connectivity," said Mike Riedel, Director of Sales, TelStrat. "Inteleflex's UPM card is a unique solution to the dial-up data problem in today's voice networks. The vast majority of Internet traffic Internet traffic is the flow of data around the Internet. It includes web traffic, which is the amount of that data that is related to the World Wide Web, along with the traffic from other major uses of the Internet, such as electronic mail and peer-to-peer networks.  is dial-up, and our UPM card routes that traffic directly to the ISP (1) See in-system programmable.

(2) (Internet Service Provider) An organization that provides access to the Internet. Connection to the user is provided via dial-up, ISDN, cable, DSL and T1/T3 lines.
provider. This off-loads the dial-up data traffic from the voice network, relieving the load on the voice switch and increasing connection speeds."

The Inteleflex(TM) Multi-Service Intelligent Access Platform (MIAP) delivers and manages narrowband and broadband voice, data and video services over any network architecture, including fiber, copper, and wireless.

Designed to function in the Inteleflex digital loop carrier In telephone communications, a technology that increases the number of channels in the local loop by converting analog signals to digital and multiplexing them back to the end office.  systems, the UPM card is a vital part of the Inteleflex(TM) MIAP, which allows service providers to deliver better Internet throughput speeds, relieve switches of heavy data traffic, and improve the quality of service for customers.

The UPM card separates data call statistics from voice call statistics and generates data traffic reports for traffic analysis. The powerful and intelligent UPM card can operate from any general-purpose slot in an Inteleflex shelf, and will fit seamlessly into any network application.

The UPM card can be provisioned to route local Internet calls directly to one or several Internet Service Providers Internet service provider (ISP)

Company that provides Internet connections and services to individuals and organizations. For a monthly fee, ISPs provide computer users with a connection to their site (see data transmission), as well as a log-in name and password.
(ISPs), freeing switches from lengthy, bandwidth-intensive data calls. This card monitors downstream traffic to route data calls directly to local ISPs over dedicated T1 links, and is easily and quickly provisioned through TelStrat's system interface software.

The versatile UPM card also offers genuine non-blocking service for all data calls. For example, if a UPM card is using one dedicated T1 transport card to reach an ISP, and all 24 DS0 timeslots on that card are busy, the UPM card will route any additional data calls for that ISP through the switch as usual.

Once a timeslot becomes available on that T1 link, the UPM card will again route ISP traffic over that card.

Unlike many legacy ADSL solutions, which waste large amounts of facility bandwidth on nailed-up connections, Inteleflex has a true data architecture that provides built-in data aggregation, QoS (Quality of Service), and statistical multiplexing See statistical multiplexor. .

The Inteleflex ADSL card now offers full data flexibility and functionality on a stand-alone basis within the Inteleflex(TM) Multi-Service Intelligent Access Platform.

"Inteleflex's ADSL deployment is simple, efficient and cost-effective, allowing service providers to deliver DSL DSL
 in full Digital Subscriber Line

Broadband digital communications connection that operates over standard copper telephone wires. It requires a DSL modem, which splits transmissions into two frequency bands: the lower frequencies for voice (ordinary
service where and when they need it," said Mike Riedel. "Inteleflex ADSL does not require additional cards or equipment to deploy, aggregate, and transport data services in an access network," noted Mr. Riedel.

Data (ATM) from ADSL channels is routed directly onto the platform's flexible ATM-based High Speed Data Backplane, providing easy access to full data functionality and QoS (Quality of Service) without additional cards or Data equipment.

ADSL data can be routed directly onto the platform's High-Speed Data Backplane or the Low Speed TDM Bus for transport across the access network while maintaining the ATM structure. This option is a perfect solution for areas where there is lower initial demand for ADSL service, because it allows service providers to deploy broadband services on an as needed as needed prn. See prn order.  basis, saving time and money.

Inteleflex's flexible ADSL cards allow service providers to use existing Inteleflex transport cards to carry ADSL traffic, reducing the size of their total investment.

The ADSL/POTSR cards are equipped with four ADSL lines and four POTS lines. The cards may be provisioned to provide ADSL, POTS, or both on a per-line basis. The integrated cards provide four ADSL service channels (G.Lite at 64 to 512 Kbps upstream and 64 to 1536 Kbps downstream or G.DMT See DSL.  at 32 to 1024 Kbps upstream and 64 to 8064 Kbps downstream) in addition to four traditional POTS circuits.

Individual ADSL splitters for each channel are integrated on the card to allow for easier installation. The card is designed for use in both Central Office and Remote Digital Terminal In telecommunications, a Remote Digital Terminal (RDT) typically accepts E1, T1 or OC-3 digital lines to communicate with a telephone Access network (AN) or telephone exchange (LDS) on one side, and forms a Local Exchange (LE) on the other, which is connected to Plain Old Telephone  applications, and can operate from any General Purpose Slot in the Inteleflex(TM) Multi-Service Intelligent Access Platform.
