Teknovus EPON system-on-a-chip solutions are, based on, and fully compliant with, the 802.3ah standard, and comprise the TK3721 for EPON OLTs, TK3701 for low-cost EPON ONUs, and TK3711 for high-performance EPON ONUs.

Only the Teknovus EPON solution offers dynamic bandwidth allocation Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) is a technique by which traffic bandwidth in a shared telecommunications medium can be allocated on demand and fairly between different users of that bandwidth.  (DBA) that employs special-purpose hardware residing in the EPON chips themselves. Hardware-based DBA delivers at least ten times the performance of software implementations, handling more connections, lower latency, and higher overall throughput.
