SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 10, 2001

Teknor's PCI-948 now offers even more passive-cooled

Pentium III performance with dual Ethernet

TEKNOR Embedded Systems Conference

Teknor Applicom Inc., a Kontron company, today announced it has revamped its PCI-948 with a passive-cooled Pentium(R) III processor - Low Power at 700 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc. , ideal for mission-critical applications that require both superior performance and heat dissipation.

This is an attractive PCI (1) (Payment Card Industry) See PCI DSS.

(2) (Peripheral Component Interconnect) The most widely used I/O bus (peripheral bus).
board-level solution specifically targeted at the datacom/telecom and Internet infrastructure equipment markets.

In addition to an ultra high performance Pentium(R) III processor - Low Power 700 MHz, the PCI-948 features an Intel 440BX chipset, dual Ethernet support and up to 1 GB of SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) A type of dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory chip that has been widely used since the late 1990s. SDRAM chips eliminated wait states by dividing the chip into two cell blocks and interleaving data between them. . Consequently, its feature-set and space-sensitive format is well equipped to power 1U PCI systems deployed for any number of Internet infrastructure applications.

program accelerates our ability to offer customers just what they need, when they need it," said Jan-Philippe De Broeck, board level product manager at Teknor. "The PCI-948 offers the best possible CPU speeds without incurring any concerns over cooling, which is optimal for applications that require exceptional uptime."

Other features include two enhanced IDE hard disk interfaces, 64-bit SVGA (Super VGA) A screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. Third-party vendors extended IBM's VGA display standard and were the first to use the term. SVGA has also referred to 1,024x768 resolutions. See PC display modes.  controller, CompactFlash support, two-stage software programmable Watchdog Timer and two USB ports. The PCI-948 is compatible with several operating systems including BSDI BSDI - Berkeley Software Design, Inc. , FreeBSD, QNX A multiuser, multitasking, real time operating system for PCs from QNX Software Systems, Ltd., Ottawa, Ontario (www.qnx.com), that is noted for its low-memory requirement and rapid response. Similar to Unix, it has been in use since the early 1980s. , Windows(R) 95/98, Windows(R) NT 4.0, Windows(R) 2000 and Linux.

Price and availability

Teknor's PCI-948 is available immediately. Call for pricing (OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  prices are available).
