New application provides OEMs with cost-effective software

platform for implementing next-generation networking equipment

Teja Technologies Inc., the leading supplier of embedded networking and communications software (communications, software) communications software - Application programs, operating system components, and probably firmware, forming part of a communication system. IPv6 technology will enable the addition of billions of new nodes and new users to the Internet. Several international telecommunications service providers are beginning to deploy commercial IPv6 networks now, in advance of the anticipated IPv4 address shortage that will ultimately occur as the continued wave of Internet-ready appliances and devices are developed and introduced to the global marketplace. This trend is particularly prevalent in Asia, driven in part by the proliferation of 2.5G and 3G wireless applications. IPv6 is the latest application to be included in Teja's expanding library of building block foundation applications. Other available applications from Teja and Teja Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) include IPv4 forwarding, TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. Unlike reference code, all of Teja's foundation applications are fully documented and supported and are designed to be quickly and easily extended and customized using the Teja NP Application Development Environment. Teja applications are delivered pre-configured to run on popular development and production boards, including ADLINK, Force, Intel, and RadiSys.

The Teja NP Software Platform allows system vendors to implement software for multi-processor architectures in less than half the time it takes with other methods. Reusing applications across multiple products or across generations of NPUs simply requires reassigning the application logic to the resources of the new target chip. The resulting benefits of using Teja NP include accelerated time-to-market, reduction in engineering risk and, most importantly, reliable, high-performance products that provide OEMs with a first-to-market advantage.
