 have concluded an agreement on the expansion of Teijin Twaron's production facilities in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The agreement specifies the responsibilities of the parties with respect to detailed engineering, purchasing and construction work. In Delfzijl, Teijin Twaron produces monomer monomer (mŏn`əmər): see polymer.

 and para-aramid polymer, which are used to manufacture the superstrong Twaron para-aramid fiber. On June 14, Teijin Twaron announced that it was to increase the total production of Twaron para-aramid by 7,500 tons to 18,500 tons. The estimated date of commissioning the extra capacity will be April 2003. For the Delfzijl site, this means a growth to approximately 17,000 tons of polymer through addition of reactors and distillation columns.
