BREL Bureau Regional pour Ethnologie et la Linguistique (Italy)
) to its portfolio of companies. BREL has developed a new Air Pollution Control Material that removes all air pollutants down to the detection limits.

The Pollution Control Material is called OXITOX(R), an activated carbonate that oxidizes all organic pollutants and absorbs all acidic compounds. When halogenerated hydrocarbons are oxidized oxidized

"The OXITOX(R) system is a significant technological breakthrough that will ultimately become the impetus for tighter emission regulations," said Dr. Anthony C. Warren, president of TMF. "We are excited about the prospects of commercializing this technology because it has inherently higher destruction and removal efficiencies than any other system on the market."

The destroyed and removed pollutants include carbon monoxide carbon monoxide, chemical compound, CO, a colorless, odorless, tasteless, extremely poisonous gas that is less dense than air under ordinary conditions. It is very slightly soluble in water and burns in air with a characteristic blue flame, producing carbon dioxide; , halogenated hydrocarbons halogenated hydrocarbons

air are no problem for the system because they are removed with the used OXITOX(R).

"The OXITOX(R) treatment system is simple and inexpensive. No additional equipment is necessary for particulate removal or acid-gas scrubbing, and acid-resistant construction is not required," said Dr. Joseph M. Berty, president of Berty Reaction Engineers, Ltd. "Furthermore, the air discharged is chlorine and acid-free."

BREL has contract manufactured the OXITOX(R) material and has operated a 135 Standard Cubic Feet per minute Cubic feet per minute (CFM) is a non-SI unit of measurement of gasflow (most often airflow) that indicates how many cubic feet of gas (most often air) pass by a stationary point in one minute.  (SCFM SCFM Standard Cubic Feet Per Minute

) unit in Europe. BREL is the only firm that has succeeded in building a system with such high destruction and removal efficiencies. This system can meet the emission regulations by itself, or work as an expansion and polishing unit after existing systems of thermal oxidation units, or incinerators, including medical waste control units.

TMF specializes in establishing partnering relationships between the technology-based companies in its portfolio and corporations that can provide funding and market access to these innovative technologies. TMF's commercialization plan for BREL will initially focus on partnering activities within the industrial process venting soil remediation, and hospital incinerator applications. These markets are estimated at more than one billion dollars worldwide.

Currently, TMF is in discussions with a select group of environmental technology firms interested in establishing a leadership position with proprietary technology which will enable tighter regulations. The first step anticipated is the establishment of a beta-site demonstration unit leading to licensing agreements for system design and a joint venture to manufacture the OXITOX(R) material.

Berty Reaction Engineers, Ltd., based in Fogelsville, Penn., was created in 1981 to assist companies in up-scaling their chemical processes.

Technology Management & Funding, L.P., based in Princeton, accelerates the process of building equity value in emerging high-technology companies, while minimizing investment risk. TMF bridges the gap between technological innovation and commercialization by establishing partnerships between small technology companies and major corporations. TMF currently has over 37 companies in its portfolio that have developed breakthrough technologies ranging from industrial products and biotechnology to software and telecommunications.
