Technology Experts, Financiers to Gather for Photon Forum 2006.CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Science researchers, entrepreneurs and investors will gather in Cambridge, Mass. to learn how science and finance can benefit each other in the rapidly expanding field of optics. This Photon photon (fō`tŏn), the particle composing light and other forms of electromagnetic radiation, sometimes called light quantum. The photon has no charge and no mass. About the beginning of the 20th cent. Forum event will take place April 24-26, 2006 at The Charles Hotel, located adjacent to Harvard University Harvard University, mainly at Cambridge, Mass., including Harvard College, the oldest American college. The two-day conference brings optics researchers and technologists together with angel investors, venture capitalists and others looking to invest in promising new technologies. The agenda balances academic and financial information with social and other networking opportunities that will enable investors, venders, intellectual-property scouts and entrepreneurs to meet each other face to face. "Our goal is to impart groundbreaking technological concepts in a succinct, engaging format," said Kathleen Perkins, chief executive officer of Breault Research Organization, one of Photon Forum's co-producers. "Careful attention to the content and format of Photon Forum presentations helps to make the content understandable and memorable. Not all conferences go through that type of process. Attendees will leave with a very clear overview of the technologies discussed," she added.
