Soil Basics of Visalia, will host an educational tour in Northern California for Chilean agricultural organizations.

The title of this educational tour is "Technology 2000 - Advanced Practices in Viticulture" and the purpose is to provide a forum for the two different cultures to exchange ideas and practices in grape growing. The five-day event is being held from May 8 to May 12, 2000.

Technology 2000 has attracted approximately 20 Chilean representatives and is also being attended by local Soil Basics' customers. Soil Basics' Sales Manager Clay Sannar said, "Having the opportunity to share information across continents is very exciting."

The event is being sponsored by four prominent agricultural organizations: 1) the Chilean government under CORFO, an agency dedicated to the education of Chilean agriculture community members; 2) COSMOCEL, a manufacturer of specialty ag chemicals with headquarters in Monterrey, Mexico; 3) AGROSPEC, a distributor of agricultural products in Chile; and 4) REDOX CHEMICALS INC., of Burley, Idaho, the inventor and owner of the technology used in the manufacture of the OXYCOM (DEFENSE) family of Systemic Acquired Resistance-eliciting products.

The host, Soil Basics, is a distributor of REDOX technology that is promoted and sold under the "OXYCOM" brand name, as well as other technologically advanced products designed to improve "Plant Health" and reduce the cost of doing business for ranchers, farmers and growers.

DEFENSE products are manufactured in Mexico under a license agreement with REDOX, for distribution in Mexico, Central and South American countries, by COSMOCEL. (DEFENSE and OXYCOM are the same product formulations, but packaged for sale under their own name and labels.)
