) today announced that it has filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a vital circuit for its transmitter A device that generates signals. "This is a critical component of our direct conversion transmission invention. The application claims the benefit of its provisional patent application filed last year and protects a key component of the company's transmitter chip, which is expected to be available to customers on an engineering sampling basis in summer 2006.

This invention is a key part of TechnoConcepts' True Software Radio(R), a wireless transmitter/receiver-on-a-chip that operates continuously across different frequency bands, controlled entirely by software.
