Techno meets technqiue.Ballet technique Ballet technique is the method by which ballet steps are performed or taught. The core technique of ballet is the same throughout the World, with some minor regional variations, and various training methods have been devised, which produce a different physicality of performance and gets a modern jolt when pointe shoes 'Pointe shoes', also referred to as toe shoes, are a special type of shoe used by ballet dancers for pointework. They developed from the desire to appear weightless, and sylph- like onstage and have evolved to allow extended periods of movement on the tips of the toes collide with techno beats in Stanton Welch's Play (Ian Casady and Cleopatra Williams) at Houston Ballet May 25th to June 4th. Featuring tunes by MTV-generation techno artist Moby, Welch's piece depicts a hectic day of pedestrian life complete with street clothes and sneaker-esque pointe shoes, hyperbolic hy·per·bol·ic also hy·per·bol·i·cal adj. 1.
