Technical Excellence in HDTV Studio and Field Production Cameras to Be the Primary Business Focus for Hitachi at NAB 2007.

Expanding its world-renowned SK series of Broadcast cameras, Hitachi Kokusai Electric showcases this NAB 2007 exhibit its full line of HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. Although some HDTV sets are available in standard (rather square) screen sizes, the overwhelming majority of sets are wide screen, which eliminates  studio and field production cameras models SK-3200, SK-3020P, SK-32B, DK-H32 and DK-H32S10

WOODBURY, N.Y. -- Five new Hitachi models of high-end HDTV cameras make their debut at the Hitachi NAB 2007 booth C5017. The cameras share the same imaging sensors, design concepts, digital technology, picture quality, control protocols and system build-up accessories. This uniformity uniquely makes any combination of these cameras perform seamlessly in many HDTV image acquisition applications.

The SK-3200 is the "hard-body" version for use with large "box" lenses. It has a portable companion model SK-3200P each having a total of 10 optical filters on 2 turrets. The SK-3020P is a lower cost version of the SK-3200P that is limited to 4 optical filters on one turret. In addition to these three, the SK-32B is of a non-traditional physical design and offers additional savings for robotic studio applications by removing unnecessary functions as intercom, program audio, dedicated viewfinder The preview window on a camera that is used to frame, focus and take the picture. On analog cameras, the viewfinder is an eye-sized window that must be pressed against the face. Point-and-shoot digital cameras use small LCD screens that are viewed several inches from the eyes.  and analog video The original video recording method that stores continuous waves of red, green and blue intensities. In analog video, the number of rows is fixed. There are no real columns, and the maximum detail is determined by the frequency response of the analog system.  outputs. All of the "SK" prefix models share the same high-performance digital optical fiber cable transmission system, accessories and control panels. The "DK" prefix series are of the same performance but forego the digital optical cable transmission system making them applicable for teleconference, observation, medical industrial, government and institutional use. The two piece DK-H32S10 further expands the applications to aircraft, space, broadcast sports, in-vehicle camera and other extreme temperature and vibration environments where a compact remote head is needed.

Hitachi has sold large quantities of SK and DK series cameras worldwide. The SK series cameras enjoy a vast customer base that has truly realized the value of Hitachi camera ownership throughout the years. Once again, Hitachi demonstrates during this NAB 2007 equipment exhibit, the reasons that make it a world-leading technology leader.

HITACHI's SK and DK series HDTV cameras are currently available for sale and immediate delivery. Prices vary depending on application and configuration. Visit the HITACHI NAB 2007 booth C5017 for further technical and commercial information.
