WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1995--TeamWARE, Europe and Asia's leading groupware vendor, and Fujitsu Open Systems Solutions, Inc. (FOSSI) are now shipping TeamWARE Imaging 3.5.

TeamWARE Imaging 3.5 provides a broad range of robust imaging capabilities for single users, workgroups, and enterprises while providing direct support for TeamWARE Office, the world's fastest growing groupware solution.

TeamWARE Imaging, available now for $195 per user license, transforms business paper glut in file cabinets into corporate resources which are easily edited, accessed and transmitted between parties. As a standalone solution, TeamWARE Imaging offers a turnkey solution for imaging which may drive the decision to adopt groupware capabilities.

Modular Growth Capacity

Organizations and workgroups can start with a single standalone TeamWARE Imaging implementation on a desktop and upgrade to a LAN or enterprise-wide configuration. Because TeamWARE Imaging supports a variety of image-capture capabilities, including scanner, and file input, an ordinary PC can become a personal image management station. Images can be stored, retrieved, and manipulated locally on a user's hard drive with ImageFOLDER, dramatically reducing bandwidth-intensive LAN traffic and conserving server resources.

Full Integration With Other TeamWARE Modules

All TeamWARE products are designed as modular components that can either function independently or in concert with each other. Together, the suite of TeamWARE products form TeamWARE Office, the groupware industry's only complete solution for automating the flow of information within an organization. TeamWARE Office consists of modules providing for messaging, conferencing, group scheduling, document management, and imaging.

TeamWARE Imaging is fully integrated with the other components of the TeamWARE suite. For example, users can send photos as attachments to mail messages with TeamWARE Mail, send artwork as attachments to a TeamWARE Library document, or post scanned magazine clips to a TeamWARE Forum. Complete Imaging Toolset

TeamWARE Imaging provides a complete set of integrated tools to handle the three components of ad hoc document management by receiving/scanning images on the front end; processing images with included viewing, OCR, and annotation tools for processing images; and robust of image storage/retrieval on the `back end.'

Standards Support

TeamWARE Imaging supports industry-standard TWAIN and ISIS drivers and will work with the majority of available scanners, ranging from low-cost desktop models to 100+ page-per-minute production systems. TeamWARE Imaging can also read images in all standard formats, including JPEG, BMP (Bitmap), TIFF, GIF, PCX, and DCX. Support for industry standard drivers and formats means that TeamWARE Imaging can interoperate with any other device, system, or software that also supports those standards. TeamWARE Imaging supports high end hardware components like optical jukeboxes for customers who want increased network performance or storage capacity, but no special hardware is required.
