Captain Blair Wiggins & Tadd Vandemark Catch Winning Fish on First and Last Casts

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Team Lazer Sharp, Captain Blair Wiggins - Addictive Fishing TV's Mogan Man - and Tadd Vandemark, captured the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series Championship Saturday, October 21, with a winning total of 35 pounds, one ounce. The two winning fish, weighing a total of 12 pounds, 12 ounces, were caught on the day's first and last casts using 3/8-ounce D.O.A. CAL jigs smothered in Lunker Sauce and tied to eight-pound-test Power Pro.

The Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series was created in 1996 by Wal-Mart and FLW Outdoors Tournaments. The Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series Championship event airs on FOX Sports Network Sunday, November 26 at 11:00 a.m.

Wiggins and Vandemark were one pound, 6 ounces out of first place on the final day of competition and were riding a hot streak - having finished third in the Redfish Series Western Division event at Lafitte, La.

"We caught our two winning fish on the first cast and last cast of the day," said Captain Blair Wiggins. "We were on our way back to weigh-in when we stopped, just short of the check-in boat, to fish one last dock. With 17 minutes to go, we hooked up the tournament-winning fish."

Shortly before capturing his first-ever title, Blair Wiggins, who is also host of the Addictive Fishing TV show, issued a somewhat surprising public announcement. "The Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series is the best redfish tournament I've ever fished," he said. "But I'm taking next year off to spend more time with my wife, family and fans." Although Wiggins hinted the retirement could be permanent, Redfish Series tournament host Dan Grimes did his best to leave the door open. "You know Blair, no matter what you decide, there is always a place here for you."
