Teacher's edition.

For many of you, the school year is almost over, so this will be your last issue of Upfront until the beginning of September.

Upfront's staff here in New York will spend the summer preparing for what's sure to be a momentous fall--particularly for social studies teachers and students--as Americans gear up for another presidential election.

In addition to our extensive coverage of Election 2012, we'll continue to bring the world to your classroom throughout the school year. From the Supreme Court and Congress here at home, to the Middle East, China, India, and Mexico abroad, we'll explain what's going on and why it's important to your students.

On the Web, we're continuing to enhance upfrontmagazine.com to make our digital teaching toolbox even more interactive and useful, so look for lots of new features and an even better user experience.

We hope Upfront has been valuable to you and your students this year, and that you'll be back with us in the fall. Until then, best wishes from all of us at Upfront for a terrific summer.

CONNECT TO THE COMMON CORE WITH UPFRONT: Forty-five states have adopted the Common Core State Standards for student learning. To Learn how Upfront can help you meet the standards, log in at www.upfrontmagazine.com and click on Teaching Resources.
