Tarragon names Rothenberg COO.


Tarragon tarragon (târ`əgŏn), perennial aromatic Old World herb (Artemisia dracunculus) of the family Asteraceae (aster family), of the same genus as wormwood and sagebrush.  Realty Investors, Inc. announced the appointment of Robert Rothenberg to its Board of Directors and to the post of Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

In her new role, Ms. Swenson will be responsible for oversight of Tarragon's residential portfolio. Prior to joining Tarragon, Ms. Swenson was the founder and President of Accord Properties Associates, which has managed the Ansonia apartment portfolio as well as other privately owned properties.

Swenson has managed over $1 billion worth of real estate in her 19-year career.

Prior to joining Tarragon, Thompson served as Chief Financial Officer for Accord Ventures. Thompson's experience includes property accounting, assetmanagement and financing.

Tarragon also announced that it has agreed to acquire Accord Properties

Associates and affiliates in which Rothenberg, Spitz and Swenson are equal partners for a combination of cash and Series A preferred stock having a total value of approximately $600,000. The acquisition, which is expected to close in January 2001, will free the Accord partners to devote full time to their new positions at Tarragon and will give Tarragon a toehold in third-party, fee management.

"The appointment of these four, seasoned executives is a milestone for Tarragon -- as significant for the future as the recognition that we now own or control real estate having a market value of almost one billion dollars," said William S. Friedman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tarragon.
