Markup language developed to be a simplified and more structural version of SGML. It incorporates features of HTML (e.g., hypertext linking), but is designed to overcome some of HTML's limitations.
OEMs/ODMs Greater Performance and Shorter Time to Market

Tarari Inc., the award-winning acceleration company, today introduced its new ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." A chip that is custom designed for a specific application rather than a general-purpose chip such as a microprocessor.  family of multi-core Tarari T9000 Content Processors that combine high-end computing hardware with optimized algorithms to deliver the first multi-core content processor on a single chip. Tarari's "Content Processor" products are ASICs, production boards, and embedded software components that are designed to snap in to networking, appliance, blades, and server systems. OEMs visiting this year's RSA (1) (Rural Service Area) See MSA.

(2) (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) A highly secure cryptography method by RSA Security, Inc., Bedford, MA (www.rsa.com), a division of EMC Corporation since 2006. It uses a two-part key.
(R) Conference in San Jose, February 14-16 are encouraged to discuss their requirements at the Tarari booth #240.

The T9000 ASIC family features optimized versions of nine of the most CPU-intensive algorithms found in the enterprise and include both gigabit and multi-gigabit solutions. Tarari's product line, which includes boards, software and now ASICs has already been selected by major OEMs, ODMs and ISVs in the XML switch and appliance markets as well as in network security markets such as: UTM (Unified Threat Management) Refers to a stand-alone appliance or a software package that combines a firewall, antivirus, spam and content filtering as well as intrusion detection. See firewall, antivirus, antispam and IDS.  (Unified Threat Management See UTM. ), intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS) and Anti-Spam.

Any application that needs to scan, parse or filter data can also benefit from T9000 Content Processors, which are ideally suited for applications such as content-based routing (CBR (1) (Computer-Based Reference) Reference materials accessible by computer in order to help people do their jobs quicker. For example, this database on disk!

(2) (Constant Bit Rate) A uniform transmission rate.
) and switching, application firewalls and security gateways, web acceleration, application networking, content filtering, anti-virus, regulatory compliance, database interfaces, and secure archiving.

"This is truly an unprecedented accomplishment! Tarari's T9000 ASIC family of Content Processors represent the industry's first Content Processing silicon that incorporates the cores needed for line speed Network Security and XML processing," said Randy Smerik, President/CEO and co-Founder of Tarari, Inc. "Tarari's breakthrough multi-core technology, with up to nine different cores on a single ASIC, is a critical enabler of one of the dominant trends taking place in the industry: the need to touch, inspect, and control the content of packets and messages flowing across networks, and in and out of servers."

"Performance and power consumption have become key limiting factors in the evolution of many important network technologies," said Bob Wheeler, senior analyst at The Linley Group. "By accelerating and offloading CPU-intensive algorithms to Tarari T9000 Content Processors, solution developers can obtain dramatic performance gains while achieving significant design cost reductions through reduced chip count, latency, power consumption, and complexity."

Optimized acceleration cores include:

--Grammar processing (dual cores) for XML and other protocols

--Regular Expression (RegEx) (dual cores)

--Compression for Zip/Gzip/PKZip

--Decompression for Zip/Gzip/PKZip

--UTF 8 to UTF (Unicode Transformation Format) See Unicode.

UTF - UCS transformation format
 16 character conversion

--RSA Modular Exponentiation

--Encryption/decryption (DES/3DES)

--SHA-1 Hashing for signature calculations

--True random number generator A program routine that produces a random number. Random numbers are created easily in a computer, since there are many random events that take place such as the duration between keystrokes.

Other T9000 family members include single grammar processors and single RegEx cores designed to be used for lower-performance systems.

"With the maturity of Service-oriented Architecture (SOAs) and Web Services technologies, notoriously inefficient XML processing will soon consume more and more compute resources in every data center," said Ron Schmelzer, senior analyst with ZapThink, LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

. "Tarari's T9000 family of Content Processors provides developers with an important technology for creating XML-based security without imposing significant additional load on existing application servers and middleware infrastructures."

"In the face of increasing traffic complexity and security threats, our customers continue to demand greater performance and more flexibility for the network solutions they build," said Elan Amir, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Bivio Networks. "By offering the Tarari T9000 with the Bivio family of network appliances, we allow our customers to adapt their offerings for a wider range of markets, while delivering uncompromising performance and scalability."

Specifications:

Performance

Tarari T9000 Content Processors feature industry-leading single chip performance:

--Simultaneous evaluation of up to 50,000 POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface for UNIX) An IEEE 1003.1 standard that defines the language interface between application programs and the Unix operating system.  1003.2 regular expressions

--Simultaneous evaluation of regular expressions at up to 3.2 Gbps

--Simultaneous evaluation of XML protocol flows at up to 2.5 Gbps

--Compression/Decompression/Encryption/Decryption at up to 1 Gbps

--Additional external agents that can be configured to allow performance to scale to 10Gbps

--Interfaces to an 8 Gbps 64 bit PCI-X (PCI eXtended) An enhanced PCI bus technology originally developed by IBM, HP and Compaq that is backward compatible with existing PCI cards. PCI and 32-bit PCI-X slots are physically the same, and PCI cards can plug into PCI-X slots.  bus

Power

Requiring only a mere 3-5 Watts of power, T9000 Content Processors dramatically reduce the power consumption requirements of network and server based security and XML/Web Services systems.

Agent Chaining

Tarari's acceleration cores are called "Agents." Tarari's unique Agent-chaining allows the output of one Agent to then be processed by another Agent, thus content processing can happen without re-crossing the I/O bus. This is essential for high-bandwidth low-latency architectures. Multiple operations such as decrypting an attachment, decompressing de·com·press
