Tappi scholarship programs.


TAPPI TAPPI Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry  is pleased to announce its 2006 scholarship program for students interested in the paper, converting, and related industries. TAPPI is committed to addressing the need for qualified professionals in the pulp, paper, packaging, and converting industries, and the scholarship program is one way to support outstanding achievement and emerging talent.

Annually, TAPPI awards the following scholarships:

* Coating and Graphic Arts graphic arts: see aquatint; drawing; drypoint; engraving; etching; illustration; linoleum block printing; lithography; mezzotint; niello; pastel; poster; silk-screen printing; silhouette; silverpoint; sketch; stencil; woodcut and wood engraving.  Division -- Up to four $1000 scholarships

* Corrugated cor·ru·gate  
v. cor·ru·gat·ed, cor·ru·gat·ing, cor·ru·gates

v.tr.
To shape into folds or parallel and alternating ridges and grooves.

v.intr.
 Packaging Division -- Multiple $2000 and $1000 scholarships

* Engineering Division -- Up to two $1,500 scholarships

* Environmental Division -- $2500 and $500 scholarships

* Nonwovens Nonwoven textiles are those which are neither woven nor knit, for example felt. General use hyphenates the word, but industrial use spells it as one word. Non-wovens are typically not strong (unless reinforced by a backing or densified).  Division -- A $1000 scholarship

* Paper and Board Division -- Multiple $1000 scholarships

* PLACE Division -- A $1000 scholarship

* Pulp Manufacture Division -- Two $2000, two $1000, and a $500 scholarship

* William William, crown prince of Germany
William or Frederick William, 1882–1951, crown prince of Germany, son of William II. In World War I he commanded (1914) an army on the Western Front and was nominal commander in the German attack
 C. Cullison Scholarship -- A $4000 scholarship
