Oil in the ground is not a "reserve" unless it is claimed to be economically recoverable, since as the oil is extracted, the cost of recovery increases incrementally in place of 4.4 billion barrels. The second well, known as East Lika-1, will be drilled to 6,000 feet to test a 30 square kilometre structural closure with 700 feet of structural relief. This prospect has potential oil reserves in place of 640 million barrels. The 8,000 ton Challenger Rig 14 and 4,000 tons of equipment have now arrived at the port of Kilwa Masoko Kilwa Masoko is a port town in eastern Tanzania. It is located at around . Kilwa Masoko is the site of very impressive ruins from the Ottoman Arab dynasties . The shipment took 5 days to sail from South Africa on the dedicated 15,000 ton cargo vessel, Afris Wave. Tug boats and the cranes of two giant barges were used to offload all of the equipment. A television crew, government officials and the press were on site to watch the operation and were conducted on a tour by the Company. The dismantled rig, which is capable of drilling up to 12,000 feet, is currently being mobilized to the first drill site using 8 heavy Kenworth trucks. The move will take 70 truck loads to complete. Forty-eight kilometres of 10 metre wide road were upgraded and cut through the bush to access the site. Three base camps, an air strip, water wells, satellite communication and electric power stations have all been set up and prepared for operation in this remote area.
