Tandem molds get simpler, better locking.

A simple and more efficient locking system has been developed for TandemMould, a patented stack-mold system that opens and closes two mold mold, name for certain multicellular organisms of the various classes of the kingdom Fungi, characteristically having bodies composed of a cottony mycelium. The colors of molds are caused by the spores, which are borne on the mycelium.  faces in alternating sequence. Unlike a conventional stack mold, each mold face is injected in·ject·ed

See .NET. ) from T/Mould GmbH, Bad Salzuflen, Germany, replaces the original bayonet-and-belt locking system located outside the mold with one that is integrated into the mold and provides more positive locking force, better repeatability, and less maintenance. Instead of being motor driven, CLS uses pneumatic pneumatic /pneu·mat·ic/ (noo-mat´ik)

T/Mould offers this locking system to enable moldmakers to build tandem molds, which reportedly cost only 10% more than two individual molds. Tandem molds can be used on conventional machines with a slight software adjustment. Mold-change time with the CLS system reportedly is the same as for a standard mold.
