Tandem adopts LDAP and X.500 directory standards for NonStop Himalaya Systems.

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 1997--Tandem Computers Incorporated today announced that it has licensed Data Connection Limited's DC Directory software for use on Tandem's NonStop Himalaya Systems to create a new version of the NonStop Directory Server (NSDS) product.

This offering supports the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and the 1993 X.500 directory standards which allow easy directory integration and Internet access to Tandem's NSDS. This effort extends the existing partnership between the two companies following Tandem's licensing of Data Connection's messaging technology.

DC Directory is a new generation of Data Connection's established electronic directory technology which provides an integrated directory solution for large corporations and service providers. Its high-performance, portable product base combines open Internet access via native LDAP and worldwide web support control and flexibility. The distributed directory service and comprehensive administrative tools are based on the 1993 X.500 directory standard.

NSDS with the added LDAP and X.500 functionality will be available in the third quarter of 1997 through Tandem.
