Tandem Taps Hewlett-Packard's Hamilton; Company Gears up for Major Clustered UNIX System Offensive in the Telecommunications Markets.


CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 11, 1997--Tandem Computers Incorporated today announced that Gail Hamilton has joined the company as vice president and general manager of Tandem's UNIX UNIX

Hamilton comes to Tandem from Hewlett-Packard where she was the general manager of the Telecom Platform Division. At Hewlett-Packard, she was responsible for all engineering, marketing, finance, and manufacturing associated with the adjunct computers, wide area networking, and Internet infrastructure businesses. Within eight months, the division achieved profitability under Hamilton's direction.

Prior to Hewlett-Packard, Hamilton was vice president of marketing and business unit manager at Microtec Research, responsible for worldwide product marketing, marketing communications Marketing communications (or marcom) are messages and related media used to communicate with a market.
