Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC).

The Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) has instituted a Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) Reimbursement Program. This program encourages all members of the Tampa Bay Chapter to study for and obtain professional certification through the Certified Defense Financial Manager Program.

The goal of our reimbursement program is twofold. First and foremost, our program encourages professional certification of all our Tampa Bay members and establishes a standard program that other chapters can adopt. Second, it is anticipated that this program will help to promote active participation and increase our membership base.

Our CDFM reimbursement program rewards members who successfully pass the three-part examination by authorizing reimbursement for the amount it costs to sit for two parts (not including administration fees). Reimbursements are made when all three modules have been passed and official notification has been received.

We are already beginning to see results, and other chapters are contacting us so that they can set up a similar program. We believe this program will assist the Department of Defense and ASMC in achieving increased certification of the Defense financial management workforce.

He holds a BS in finance, University of Louisiana-Lafayette, and an MBA from Marymount University, Arlington, Virginia. Previously, he served as a Budget Analyst at SAF/FMBMR, Pentagon, and the 11th Wing, Pentagon. He is a graduate of the Palace Acquire Program, Financial Management Staff Officer Course, Professional Military Comptroller School, and Executive Leadership Development Program. He is a member of Delta Epsilon Sigma National Honor Society and the President of the Tampa Bay Chapter of ASMC.
