Talyst names Michael Bordelon as Executive Vice President, Product Development, Extended Care Group.


BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Talyst, a leader in pharmacy automation, has named Michael D. Bordelon to the position of executive vice president, product development, for its Extended Care Group. Dallas-based Bordelon will be responsible for research and development of products that address the needs of the long-term care (LTC LTC

) market.

Talyst's Extended Care Group is exploring market opportunities for its proprietary software and automation products in sub-acute healthcare environments, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and correctional facilities.

"Mike is a leader in the application of technology to improve medication safety and efficiency for long-term care providers and their patients," notes James E. Torina, president and chief executive officer. "His understanding of the challenges in long-term care and his proven software development experience parallels our approach to improving pharmacy accuracy and workflow."

As vice president, research and development, for Achieve Healthcare Technologies in Dallas, Bordelon led the National Council on Prescription Drug Plans' (NCPDP NCPDP National Council for Prescription Drug Programs ) 50-member LTC Work Group on electronic health records and e-prescribing standards.
