Talk back.Dear Current Events, George Bush's State of the Union address was the last time that he had a chance to redeem himself from all of the controversy with him in office ["State of the Union," issue 17]. Although he did not reach that goal completely, he still had some very strong points. I agree with his statements to continue to secure the country's borders. I disagree, though, with his plan for energy. I think he made an effort to create a different source of power a little bit too late. Overall, my feelings toward his speech were good. I just hope he follows through. I would change the regulations on automobile companies to make their autos more fuel-efficient ... Then, in the Middle East, I would start shipping more oil into the United States.
