Talco recently finalized the purchase of the plant from British Petroleum for an undisclosed amount. The 160,000-sq-ft operation has been renamed metals-America.

Talco bought the plant to increase its capabilities in anode production for the metal finishing and electronics industries. The firm also will develop new products in the areas of copper, brass and nickel alloy Noun 1. nickel alloy - an alloy whose main constituent is nickel

Estimated production may exceed 10 million pounds monthly. Additional business will result from tolling contracts for the plant's hot rolling The metallurgical process of Hot rolling, used mainly to produce sheet metal or simple cross sections from billets describes the method of when industrial metal is passed or deformed between a set of work rolls and the temperature of the metal is generally above its , cold rolling cold rolling

British Petroleum, which had invested more than $67 million in the facility, manufactured brass and copper narrow strip for the electronics and related industries at the plant.

The metals-America plant will have up to 100 full-time employees when full-scale manufacturing comes on-line within the first year.
