Taking Stock for the New Year. (LABJ Forum).

While the stunning events of 2001 have led to plenty of soul-searching about the important things in life, there's still opportunity to consider any and all priorities for the coming year. The Business Journal asks:

What are your resolutions for 2002?

Bob Graziano

President, Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
Los Angeles Dodgers "Dodgers" and "Brooklyn Dodgers" redirect here. For the American football team, see Brooklyn Dodgers (football). For the Eastern Basketball Association team, see Brooklyn Dodgers (basketball).

My New Year's resolution A New Year's Resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year's Day and remain until the set  is to run my first marathon in March that being the L.A. Marathon. It's a challenge I've never accomplished. Every year I say I'm going to do it, and this year I'm really going to do it. I've already started training for it. I'm actually running some pretty long distances. I've already run 20 miles.

Steve Soboroff

President

Playa playa
or pan or flat or dry lake

Flat-bottomed depression that is periodically covered by water. Playas occur in interior desert basins and adjacent to coasts in arid and semiarid regions.
 Vista

On the business front, a year from now I'd like to have a lot of happy people who live in Playa Vista invite me over for dinner. Overall, I just want to continue thinking that things happen for the best -- that's a good one, considering I just lost an election. Hey, this is OK. Things are fine that I didn't win. I want to keep that feeling going.

Alex Padilla

President

Los Angeles City Council The Los Angeles City Council is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles, California, United States.

One thing I will do in the coming year is give my full support for any effort to keep the city of Los Angeles
For the city, see Los Angeles, California.

together. I will also support any efforts to improve city performance so as to remove the impetus for secession. Another goal is to attract new businesses and good-paying jobs to the northeast San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.
. I'd like to see more economic development projects like the SunQuest Office Park in Sun Valley. Personally, my goal is to finish a 10-K race in 50 minutes or less.

Ali Kasikci

General Manager

The Peninsula Beverly Hills

When you reach a certain age, you basically hope for the best. The only resolution I can make is not to repeat the last quarter of 2001. The tragedy and drama we all went through is so big that it is something I wouldn't want to repeat.

Richard Ayson

Director of Marketing

Hollywood Entertainment Museum

The museum for me is the best kept secret in L.A., so as an over rider, my resolution is to change that -- to make it known to the broadest possible audience as we can. We're putting together a formal advertising and marketing campaign. Personally, I'm new to L.A., so the key thing is to find a balance between play and work. I've just come from London, where the weather was dreadful and life always seemed about work, work, work. There's an incredible quality of life here, and I really want to get up every day and embrace that.

Grace Jamra

Partner

Phillips Lerner and Lauzon LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol

To expand my involvement in the community and nonprofits because therein lies the true reward. It's not an issue of giving money. It's giving time GIVING TIME, contracts. Any agreement by which a creditor gives his debtor a delay or time in paying his debt, beyond that contained in the original agreement. When other persons are responsible to him, either as drawer, endorser, or surety, if such time be given without the consent of . Also, probably to find a balance in my life between work and personal, taking the time for myself, as far as reading and writing, and just taking time off. I haven't had a vacation in years. I already know where I want to go -- Cabo.
