Takara Bio Releases High-fidelity PCR Enzyme PrimeSTAR HS DNA Polymerase.Tokyo, Japan, July 26, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Takara Bio announced on July 25 that it has launched PrimeSTAR HS DNA Polymerase, a polymerase chain reaction polymerase chain reaction (pŏl`ĭmərās') (PCR), laboratory process in which a particular DNA segment from a mixture of DNA chains is rapidly replicated, producing a large, readily analyzed sample of a piece of DNA; the process is (PCR PCR polymerase chain reaction. PCR abbr. polymerase chain reaction Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) ) enzyme with high fidelity and increased DNA amplification efficiency. Further, with its higher priming efficiency, the new product reduces PCR reaction time. One unit (for 200 reactions) sells for 31,500 yen ($283). At Takara Bio, PCR enzyme sales account for more than 40% of its domestic research-use reagent sales.
