Taiyo Yuden's New Low-Profile Wound-Chip Inductors Provide 30% Higher Current Rating than Conventional Inductors of Equal Size.

Excellent Shock Resistance in Drop Tests from 1.8m (6'); NR Series

Inductors Offer Three Alternative Height Dimensions from 1.0mm to

1.8mm to Optimize Lower-Profile "Designability"

Taiyo Yuden (U.S.A.) Inc. announces the new NR series of low-profile wound-chip inductors in the industry's smallest packages relative to comparable device performance. The NR series is designed specifically for use in DC/DC converter (1) A device that changes one set of codes, modes, sequences or frequencies to a different set. See A/D converter.

(2) A device that changes current from 60Hz to 50Hz and vice versa.
choke-coil applications, an emerging industry trend driving the replacement of less-efficient charge pump A charge pump is an electronic circuit that uses capacitors as energy storage elements to create either a higher or lower voltage power source. Charge pump circuits are capable of high efficiencies, sometimes as high as 90-95% while being electrically simple circuits.  power supplies that cannot meet the convergent needs of new-generation feature-intensive cell phones and other high-power-consumption portables. As a result of Taiyo Yuden's material science expertise and innovative fabrication fabrication (fab´rikā´shn),

techniques, NR series devices provide up to 30% higher rated current than conventional inductors of equal size. The three part numbers in the NR series provide a uniform 4mm x 4mm footprint, and are available in 1.0mm (Model number NR4010), 1.2mm (NR4012) or 1.8mm (NR4018) device heights to remain within the critical vertical limits of key ICs in ultra-portable devices.

Increasing cell phone functionality, such as adding color LCDs and digital movie cameras, simultaneously raises IC counts and limits space for individual electronic components. Consequently, strong demands are being made on choke (jargon) choke - To fail to process input or, more generally, to fail at any endeavor.

real estate, and stay under the component height limits imposed by other essential ICs. Responding to this need, Taiyo Yuden's NR series wound-chip inductors occupy a footprint of only 16mm(sq). To increase rated current, the company developed a unique ferrite-resin compound that, when applied to the exterior of the wound chip inductor inductor, electric device consisting of one or more turns of wire and typically having two terminals. An inductor is usually connected into a circuit in order to raise the inductance to a desired value. , allows more space for the internal conductor, minimizes heat generation and improves DC inductance inductance, quantity that measures the electromagnetic induction of an electric circuit component; it is a property of the component itself rather than of the circuit as a whole.  characteristics. The result is a unique component structure that achieves a 1.3 times higher rated current than conventional inductors of the same size.

Advances in current rating and size reduction are matched by improved shock resistance -- tests of NR series products mounted on printed circuit boards have confirmed excellent, damage-free durability, even when dropped from a 1.8m (6') height.
