Taisho Pharmaceutical's New Vitamin Preparation for Eyes Hits Market.

: 4535) announced on July 21 that it has begun distributing a new vitamin preparation, Iris Ace Tablet, across Japan.

The new product, which contains vitamin A vitamin A
 also called retinol

Fat-soluble alcohol, most abundant in fatty fish and especially in fish-liver oils. It is not found in plants, but many vegetables and fruits contain beta-carotene (see
 and vitamin D at the maximum prescribed dose in addition to vitamin C and vitamin E, helps alleviate dry eyes and night-blindness with once-a-day dosage.

The 60-tablet bottle retails for 2,205 yen ($20) and the 30-tablet bottle for 1,365 yen ($12). The company expects to generate 300 million yen ($2.7 mil) in sales in the first year.
