Tailgating, hold the $1,000 donation.

Byline: Best of ... by The Register-Guard

We've got news for you, Autzen: Your days as tailgating Tailgating

The action of a broker or advisor purchasing or selling a security for his or her client(s) and then immediately making the same transaction in his or her own account.
 central are over.

What happened?

You got too expensive, that's what happened. You sold out to the big donors who pay thousands of bones to park in that big, ugly gravel lot, which is looking more and more like a yacht club social every year.

Call us crazy, but we prefer our tailgates to actually have tailgates. And no, the hatchback on a Lexus RX-330 doesn't count.

The main action always will be in the stadium (although the way the Ducks are playing this season, that point is debatable). But when it comes to the pre-game pre-func, the best parties are happening elsewhere, in places such places as the BMX BMX

Not only is the parking cheaper there, but you can rest assured that your money is going to a good cause instead of funding the private bidet bi·det

Boulevard at the Masonic Center, where you'll find footballs flying through the air, hot dogs roasting on open grills and lots and lots of open tailgates. The money goes to charity, and the Masons say they can't remember ever turning anyone away.

There's also something else this place has that seems to be largely lacking from the lot at Autzen, and that's students. We know. College football isn't really about academics or the university, and pretty soon they won't even allow students into the stadium. But we figure we should at least let them tailgate A conversion layer that lets IDE devices connect to the IEEE 1394 Firewire interface. .

And although it's not our style, we're willing to acknowledge that tailgating can be a whole lot more comfortable in a 65-foot-long RV with a satellite TV connection. If that's your thing, the Masonic Center may be just the place for you.

Here, you can avoid the mad morning rush for an Autzen parking spot - a scene that's been likened to the Oklahoma Land Rush and the Running of the Bulls - by docking your ship the night before. And instead of getting tossed out after the game like yesterday's newspaper (ahem), you can lower the awning, fire up the plasma screen and kick back with with a cool one.

If you've got an RV, or better yet a decommissioned school bus splashed with green and yellow paint, you can pretty much park all weekend with the Masons. Just imagine: a pre-pre-game party, a pre-game party, a post-game party and a post-post-game party.

Now that's what we call tailgating.

We will, we will, rock you down, shake you up, like a volcano, about to erupt. Mighty mighty Mighty Mighty were an indie band formed in Birmingham, England in the mid-1980's.
