Tacit Networks Broadens Technology Leadership with New Vice President of Engineering; Surging Growth since January 2003 Drives Executive Team Expansion; Accomplished Storage and Networking Veteran Larry Cantwell to Head Engineering Team.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. -- Tacit Networks, the leader in enterprise-wide remote office IT solutions, today announced the appointment of 15 year storage and networking engineering veteran Larry Cantwell as Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Cantwell will be charged with managing day-to-day engineering operations, overseeing expansion of Tacit Networks' suite of wide area branch office IT services and technology and assuring product quality and usability. Mr. Cantwell's track record of proven engineering development leadership includes positions with IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  and General Electric as well as his most recent position as Senior Director of Switching Engineering for CNT (Carbon NanoTube) See nanotube.  Corporation (formerly INRANGE Technologies and currently part of McData Corporation) where he led a team of 75 engineers in the development of three generations of successful director class switching class switching Physiology A step in the normal maturation of Hb during fetal development that requires switching from embryonal zeta chain, which is structurally similar to the α chain, and occurs on chromosome 16 to mature α chain production; β  products.

In assuming the role of Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Cantwell takes over day-to-day engineering operations from the company's CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. "I have worked with Larry Cantwell at previous companies and, as an engineering executive, he has always over-delivered on-time and on-budget. These are invaluable traits for a VP of Engineering." said Greg Grodhaus, Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Tacit Networks. "With Larry's background in solving enterprise-class storage and networking challenges and solid experience in both hardware and software, he is well positioned to help us build on our leadership position."

The expansion of Tacit Networks' executive team is indicative of its explosive growth and rapid evolution since the company first shipped product in January of 2003. Tacit Networks has seen 4X revenue growth between 2003 and 2004 and is on target to deliver 5X revenue growth year-over-year for the 2004 to 2005 period. This momentum is driven by the company's widely accepted technologies and its growing partnerships with industry stalwarts such as Brocade, Microsoft and IBM Many people are too new to the computer industry to remember that IBM once occupied the lofty position that Microsoft currently enjoys. Today, it's a Microsoft versus The Rest of the World computer industry. Yesterday, it was IBM versus everybody else. .

"After two and a half years of successful deployments around the globe, Tacit Networks products have been thoroughly customer tested and certified as safe, reliable and delivering tremendous value," said Shirish Phatak, Tacit Networks, CTO and Chief Architect. "We are not standing still, however, and continue to increase our offerings to meet customer demand and provide an ever-expanding product line to solve a wider variety of business issues. Larry Cantwell's appointment allows us to meet this demand by adding new expertise and 'bandwidth' at the head of our core engineering team."

"Tacit Networks has pioneered vitally important technology that I believe will quickly and positively impact virtually all distributed enterprises," said Larry Cantwell. "I am proud to have been given this opportunity to continue to broaden Tacit Networks' engineering team and to scale up what is widely recognized as the industry's best-in-class WAFS WAFS Wide-Area File Services (storage technology)
