TWO NEW STARS HEADED FOR GOTHAM CITY.

Byline: Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith

No matter what you might have heard, you'd better believe that - barring last-minute snafus - it will definitely be George Clooney George Timothy Clooney (May 6, 1961) is an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter who gained fame as the lead doctor in the long-running television drama, ER  as Batman and Arnold Schwarzenegger Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (German pronunciation (IPA): [ˈaɐ̯nɔlt ˈaloɪ̯s ˈʃvaɐ̯ʦənˌʔɛɡɐ]  as the villainous Mr. Freeze in Warner Bros BROS Brothers
BROS Benefits and Retirement Operations Section (King County, Washington)
BROS Barnes and Richmond Operatic Society (London, UK)
.' fourth big-screen installment of the comic-book saga.

All that remains to be resolved are some scheduling problems. Clooney is set to make the feature "Peacemaker" for DreamWorks, and of course there's his ongoing work on "ER." The latter shouldn't be a problem. It's produced by Warners - with which he's signing a three-picture deal that's reportedly one of the richest in the business. It would even be possible for Clooney to make some appearances on the ensemble series while he was making "Batman."

As far as Schwarzenegger, as reported in this column last week, the muscleman is scheduled to start Alan Ladd Jr.'s World War II drama, "With Wings as Eagles," for Paramount in August. And director Joel Schumacher expects to start "Batman IV" in August or September. It could be a squeeze.

"He's around every day, either on the set or in the editing room. He's a part of the process, like a kid in a candy story, fired up about the project," reported David Keith, who stars as a gritty veteran cop on the program that debuts on ABC ABC

"If this is what he meant when he formed DreamWorks - and said performers would have a chance to provide input in their projects - then he's kept his promise and more. Everyone is being given a chance to make decisions - without a bunch of yuppies around saying, 'You can't do that,' " Keith said. "If you've got an instinct, there are people who want to listen and respond. This is like making a good movie, only at a faster pace. These guys (from DreamWorks) are in high gear, but nothing suffers, and they love trying things that are different." He summed it up by saying, "Man, I am in heaven."
