PALMDALE - Sheriff's deputies arrested two young men Friday believed to have robbed a Littlerock liquor liquor /li·quor/ (lik´er) (li´kwor) pl. liquors, liquo´res   [L.]

 windows outside the liquor store, but the robbers quickly switched vehicles, robbing the check-cashing business about two hours later, deputies said.

After the check-cashing robbery, a witness followed the robbers, saw them park the car at an Avenue Q-12 apartment complex and watched them go into an apartment, Sgt. Vince Burton said.

Deputies arrested the pair at the apartment.

The names of the suspects, ages 20 and 18, were not immediately released.

The bullet-riddled car from the first robbery was found parked at the Littlerock home of the younger suspect's mother, Burton said.

The first robbery occurred about 9:50 a.m. Friday when two males in their late teens and armed with handguns walked into the Joshua Liquor store in the 8700 block of East Avenue T.

The pair ran out with an undisclosed amount of money and got into a four-door Toyota Cressida The Toyota Cressida was a mid-size, high-end luxury sedan introduced by Toyota in 1973, first exported from Japan in its second generation in 1977. The same chassis, with slightly different bodies were available in other countries as the Toyota Mark II, Toyota Chaser and Toyota  that had been parked on the street. A store clerk ran out with a pistol and fired six bullets into the vehicle, shattering its rear and passenger window.

The car turned out to have been stolen, deputies said.

The Cash in a Flash check-cashing business in the 37500 block of Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling  was robbed about noon Friday.

Deputies took the two suspects into custody about 3:15 p.m.
