TWA TOPS SURVEY FOR SATISFIED FLIERS.

Trans World Airlines Trans World Airlines, commonly known as TWA, was a major American airline company that was acquired by American Airlines in April 2001. For many years it was headquartered at the Kansas City Downtown Airport, as well as midtown Manhattan in New York City.  hasn't done a good job of making money the past few years, but it's been doing a great job of keeping its customers satisfied, according to a respected survey of frequent travelers.

The airline took top honors for long-distance flights in the annual J.D. Power and Associates/Frequent Flyer magazine customer satisfaction survey released Tuesday. America West Airlines America West Airlines was one of the United States' ten major airlines. The airline was based in Tempe, Arizona, and is now a part of US Airways Group.

At the time of its integration into US Airways, the airline maintained two hubs, one at Phoenix Sky Harbor International

TWA's schedule reliability also improved in 1997, as the airline canceled 5,413 fewer flights than in the previous year. And the carrier has been flying a new fleet, having replaced about 20 percent of its aircraft since mid-1996.
