TWA LAUNCHES ATLANTA HUB

 TWA LAUNCHES ATLANTA HUB
MT. KISCO, N.Y., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- TWA Chairman and CEO

Carl C. Icahn today announced the first step in the establishment of a new TWA hub in Atlanta. The hub will begin operations on June 1 with the addition of six new TWA destinations from Atlanta, bringing to nine the total number of cities served by TWA from Hartsfield Airport.
"The establishment of this new service at one of the busiest airports in the country puts TWA in a position to capitalize on substantial traffic and revenue potential," Icahn said.
TWA will offer point-to-point service over the Atlanta Hub to and from Philadelphia; Detroit; Washington, Orlando and Tampa, Fla.; New Orleans; New York (JFK); and St. Louis. The service is being introduced with special, no advance purchase, one way fares of $69 and $89, depending on the destination city.
The six new cities being served are: Philadelphia; Detroit; Washington; Orlando; New Orleans; and Tampa. One flight from Atlanta to New Orleans commences on May 1, with two additional flights scheduled to begin on June 1.
Establishment of the Atlanta hub follows the successful expansion of our JFK hub last month, where TWA will have four non-stop flights to Atlanta as a May 1," Icahn said, adding that TWA also has five Atlanta- St. Louis flights feeding TWA destination cities in the West.
"Commencement of the new Atlanta service fits TWA's strategy for offering a low-cost, high value alternative in a dominant airline hub city for both business and leisure travelers," Icahn said.
