Agency, the agency responsible for the control of communicable disease and medical disaster coordination in one of the nation's most populous counties, took delivery of TVI's new product in the fourth quarter of 2003. The systems, sold for $245K, are being deployed at each of the county's critical care hospitals ready to be used in the event of a crisis.

By coupling TVI's field-proven chamber technology with leading edge military grade filtration equipment, the AEGIS ChemBio(TM) System furnishes our nation's first responders and healthcare workers with a formidable tool to protect themselves and the public.

Highly portable, the isolation room of the AEGIS Champion(TM) System converts in seconds from a cube small enough to be stored in a closet to an entirely enclosed chamber capable of isolating up to 5 patients and the required medical support equipment. The AEGIS ChemBio Filtration(TM) Unit, with its automated chamber feedback loop and The US Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command (SBCCOM SBCCOM Soldier & Biological Chemical Command (US Army) )-tested carbon adsorbers, helps ensure that filtered air remains free of both chemical and biological contaminants. The AEGIS ChemBio Filtration(TM) Unit can be used either in conjunction with the rapidly deploying chamber, or can be attached to a fixed structure such as a hospital room for a more permanent option.

The AEGIS ChemBio(TM) System creates either a negative or positive pressure environment in the chamber and, therefore, can be used to help control the spread of diseases such as TB, Small Pox or SARS, or it can help create a clean room environment and help to protect immune-compromised patients from contaminants in the atmosphere.

"The introduction of this product is the next step in the evolution of TVI into a preeminent manufacturer of first response equipment, and is a natural product extension for our firm. "The significant amount of Federal funding being used to enable our hospitals to respond to acts of chemical and biological terror and the Army's critical need to protect its soldiers from chemical and biological weapons will drive explosive growth in this product category. I can think of no greater validation for our product than the presence of our equipment in the hospital in San Diego," adds Mr. Priddy.
