TVI Corporation Receives $230,000 Order from the Singapore Civil Defense Force; Third Order for SafetyTech's Powered Air Purifying Respirators Placed by the SCDF During Past Three Years.

GLENN DALE, Md. -- TVI Corporation (NASDAQ: TVIN), a global supplier of rapidly deployable first responder systems for homeland security, hospitals, the military, police and fire departments, and public health agencies, today announced it has received a $230,000 order for SafetyTech's Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) from the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF). TVI acquired privately held SafetyTech International, Inc. in November 2005.

PAPRs are designed to support the military, first responders and anyone facing respiratory threats. They provide more comprehensive protection than standard gas masks as a constant flow of purified air passes through filter cartridges. SafetyTech's advanced line of PAPRs meet the latest proposed Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) standards.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force is Singapore's uniformed government agency in charge of providing emergency services during peacetime and national emergency. It provides basic ambulance and fire fighting services and also is equipped for disaster relief operations, similar to the role of the National Guard in the United States.
