Lew Bennett, a 45-year veteran of the medical industry, has been named the president and chief executive officer of TVC TVC Traditional Values Coalition

A medical consultant for the past 15 years, Bennett has analyzed the operations of 535 orthopaedic and neuro practices and performed consulting work for 30 universities.

He is widely known in orthopaedic-industry circles and has made the rounds on the lecture circuit, delivering speeches to the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association and numerous other professional organizations.

. In 1966, he was one of the founders of Howmedica, now Stryker Orthopaedics.

From 1974 to 1979, Bennett was a full partner and president with Dillon Manufacturing Company, and later served as the president of six divisions when the company became part of General Medical Corporation.

In 1980, he joined Richards - Smith & Nephew as senior vice president and general manager of the company's general surgical division. Eleven years later, in 1991, he became a corporate officer with Danek, a spinal implant company, which later became Medtronic Sofamor Danek Group.

Before starting his consulting business, Bennett was the executive vice president of NuVasive, Inc., a developer of spine-surgery solutions.

Bennett currently serves on the board of directors of PAS Asset Acquisition, NuVasive, and co.don(R) AG, a Berlin, Germany-based company that specializes in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. He is a former member of the board of directors of Orthovita, the American Heart Association American Heart Association (AHA),
