, has begun tracking the viewing habits of college students. As a result, many shows are likely to see a surge See power surge.

Nielsen places "people meters The People Meter is a device and system used by Nielsen Media Research in the USA to allow a relatively passive measurement of the viewing habits of TV and cable audiences. The people meter was invented by a British company called Audits of Great Britain, or AGB for short. "--small devices connected to TV sets--in about 10,000 U.S. households. Data from these devices are used to estimate how many people watch any given program.
