 TURNPIKE COMMISSION APPOINTS NEW INFORMATION SPECIALIST
 PITTSBURGH, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Turnpike


Commission has appointed Thomas A. Fox to serve as information specialist for the turnpike's Western Regional Office in Forest Hills, Pa., it was announced today.
 Fox will be responsible for ensuring that the media, community officials, and the general public are well informed about turnpike activities and projects in western Pennsylvania. He also will issue traffic advisories and press releases regarding construction, safety innovations and improvements made on the turnpike.
 Fox is assuming his new duties as the Turnpike Commission prepares to open two new roadways -- the Beaver Valley Expressway connecting Interstate 80 and Interstate 79 with the new Pittsburgh International Airport and the turnpike's 360-mile east-west route across Pennsylvnaia and the Amos K. Hutchinson Bypass in Greensburg, Pa. The bypass will connect travelers from the turnpike at New Stanton, Pa., (Exit No. 8) to state Route 22 in Delmont, Pa.
 Prior to joining the Turnpike Commission, Fox was the marketing manager for Allegheny County's Department of Development, one of the nation's largest urban county development programs. He also has worked with private developers, public utilities, the corporate community and local government and labor groups to promote the Allegheny County metropolitan area.
 In addition, Fox created and published the Allegheny County Resource Profile, Port of Pittsburgh Fact Finder, and was editor of "Development," an economic development newsletter with an 8,000-copy circulation. Fox has a B.S. degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio, and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
