TURNER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY SECURES $57 MILLION CONTRACT FOR MUTUAL OF AMERICA'S NEW YORK HEADQUARTERS

 NEW YORK, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Construction Company has secured a $57 million contract with Mutual of America Life Insurance Company for the renovation of 320 Park Avenue for use as their headquarters in New York, according to an announcement made today by The Turner Corporation (AMEX: TUR), the nation's leading general builder.
 Construction is already underway on the retrofit of the 35-story, 670,000-square-foot Park Avenue building. The project, designed by Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, entails new exterior wall, lobby, elevator and mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) construction. Project completion is anticipated in May 1995.
 "We could not be happier about this contract," commented Robert Fee, a Turner vice president and general manager of the company's New York territory. "As the country's largest renovations and interiors builder, we are able to bring to this major New York City project a vast well of retrofit experience and expertise. We look forward to a successful working relationship with Mutual of America."
 Turner was founded in New York in 1902 and is responsible for some of the city's most well-known buildings including the United Nations Secretariat building, Tiffany's, Madison Square Garden and both the New York State and Vivian Beaumont theaters at Lincoln Center. More recently, Turner's projects have included the new Citicorp headquarters building in Long Island City, the Guggenheim Pavilion at Mt. Sinai Hospital and 450 Lexington Avenue, a 32-story building built above the landmark Grand Central Post Office.
