TURKEY POINT RECEIVES HIGHEST-EVER SALP 'REPORT CARD' MIAMI, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) today released the results of their Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) for Florida Power & Light Company's performance at the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Station for the period Aug. 1, 1990-Sept. 28, 1991. The assessment known as SALP is an NRC "report card" of a plant's performance. Each nuclear station is graded in eight basic areas with a grade of 1, representing outstanding performance; a 2, constituting good performance; and 3, denoting average performance. Turkey Point received five grade 1s and three grade 2s for the best SALP report ever received from the NRC since the SALP ratings began in 1981.
