TTC INTRODUCES COMMUNICATIONS ANALYZER FOR 2M/DATA CIRCUITS.TTC, Germantown, Md., has introduced the newly designed TTC 247 communications analyzer for 2M and data installation and maintenance. The new product incorporates features that make it an intuitive and easy-to-use instrument in a sleek, hand-held package with a color display. The TTC 247, a dedicated 2M and data hand-held instrument, offers mobile technicians and engineers instant expertise via test automation. The instrument's "Quick Test" feature and large touch-screen color display show standard test set-ups such as 2M BERT (bit error rate test), data communications BERT and channel activities at the touch of a button. The "2M View" feature allows a comprehensive look at channel activity across all timeslots and an events-log feature enables the technician to isolate intermittent problems over time. "We designed the TTC 247 with the mobile technician in mind," said Doug Smith, TTC product line manager. "As a result, TTC is proud to bring the field-test market a dedicated 2M/data analyzer with features and value that are unsurpassed." Equipped with a color touch-screen graphical user interface and smart test set-up features, the TTC 247 enables even novice technicians to easily perform 2M and data tests in the field. The ruggedized TTC 247 offers a complete set of in-service and out-of service 2M tests and measurements to evaluate circuit performance and isolate problems. Dual transmitters and receivers provide simultaneous traffic monitoring in both directions with results display and full-duplex drop and insert testing. The TTC 247 will be available for commercial shipment in January. Its suggested retail price is U.S.$6,495.
