TSYS Chosen Global Processor of the Year by Cards International.

Award Acknowledges Successful Global Expansion

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- TSYS TSYS Total System Services, Inc.  has earned the 2007 Cards International Global Award for the category "Card Processor of the Year."

The award was presented at the annual Cards International awards dinner in Berlin the evening of May 22, during which the industry's leading players earned peer recognition for their noted achievements. Kelley Knutson, managing director of TSYS Europe, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

The award as "Card Processor of the Year" acknowledges TSYS' successful expansion beyond its home market of the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  during 2006 and 2007. Many of the company's recent international initiatives -- such as creating a joint venture with CUP Data in China; the acquisition of Card Tech Limited, based in the United Kingdom; and TSYS' multi-product, multi-country expansion across Europe and in Japan -- contributed to the judges' decision to honor TSYS.

"This is an incredible time to be in the payments industry, and this award recognizes not only our hard work outside of the United States, but also the unprecedented activity that's going on in the global marketplace today," said Philip W. Tomlinson, chairman of the board and C.E.O. of TSYS.

"TSYS intends to remain a major player as the payment industry moves into new areas and gives people throughout the world safer, more convenient and secure payment tools," Tomlinson said.
