 TSS NAMES NEW PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER;
 EX-CITICORP EXECUTIVE TO LEAD IN-STORE MEDIA COMPANY
 PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- TSS Ltd., a developer and marketing of in-store electronic promotions systems and programs for retailers and manufacturers, today announced the appointment of Michael A. Clark, a senior executive with extensive experience in new electronic media, as president and chief executive officer. In his new position Clark will have responsibility over aspect of TSS's business.
 Clark, 36, most recently served as a managing director for Citicorp P.O.S. Information Services, a leader in retail targeted marketing programs based on point-of-sale data. While at Citicorp P.O.S., Clark oversaw the development, testing and launch of strategic and tactical database information products and services for both retailers and packaged good marketers.
 "The upward trend of in-store media will continue to accelerate in the 1990s, and TSS is well-positioned to exploit these new opportunities," said Clark. "What is particularly exciting about TSS is that the technology and systems have been so thoroughly proven -- both in terms of performance and consumer demand."
 TSS Ltd.'s promotional programs feature electronic coupon-dispensing kiosks, known as "The Savings Spot," which are located at the entrance of retail stores. Shoppers receive instant coupons for up to 24 products by simply pressing a picture of the product offer. With redemption rates averaging more than 30 percent, the TSS kiosk offers marketers a significant advantage over coupons delivered via newspapers, which average less than 3 percent. According to Clark, "At this point, it is clear that the real battleground for changing consumer purchase behavior is at the point of purchase. In my experience, the critical success factor for new electronic media firms is to be market driven, rather than vision or technology-driven. I think TSS is in exactly the right place at the right time."
 Programs utilizing the company's kiosks are currently operating l." TSS has targeted other classes of retailers including chain drug stores and specialty retail stores as future outlets.
 Clark brings to TSS more than 15 years of senior marketing, sales management, and technical experience with companies specializing in new electronic media products and services. Prior to working at Citicorp, Clark held senior marketing positions at S&H Green Stamps, in its promotion and database marketing division known as Counter Intelligence, at American Telemedia Network, which markets multimedia kiosks in shopping malls, and at Portel, which markets home videotext services.
 Clark replaces Stephen A. Collins, who remains with TSS in an administrative capacity. Clark holds a B.S. degree from the University of Bridgeport, and resides in Milford, Conn., with his wife, Maryjane.
