Managed Object Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of vendor-neutral network integration tools, announced today that TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) Refers to a program that remains in memory when the user exits it in order that it be immediately available at the press of a hotkey.  Wireless LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

FORMULA(tm) software suite for web-enabled management of TSR's nationwide paging network.

FORMULA will provide TSR's coast-to-coast technical staff with on-site management displays of local and national network assets, down to the device level.

TSR Wireless LLC is America's sixth largest paging carrier and largest paging retailer. The company operates more than 2200 local transmitters and 50 paging switches from coast to coast. The TSR network is locally maintained by a staff of more than 80 full-time technicians.

TSR purchased the MOS FORMULA(tm) Integration Engine, MOS NetSpider(tm) screen display, MOS Max/E Adapter(tm) and MOS SIGpro(tm) Performance Manager. All were installed at the TSR Engineering Headquarters in LeMoyne, Pennsylvania.

"TSR doesn't make use of a Network Operations Center See NOC.

"When I saw the FORMULA demonstration, I knew in thirty seconds we needed it," he stated.

D&G Software of Frederick, MD, a licensed MOS reseller, had recommended the FORMULA suite to their large paging customer.

"I knew they were looking for a clean web solution with minimal programming baggage. The FORMULA suite automatically integrated to their installed base of BMC software. It gave them the local network views they needed, without any client-software distribution problems," stated David Fisher, the head of D&G.

FORMULA is the first web-based, fully Java(tm) compliant integration engine for network and systems management. It normalizes data from most popular management programs and maps all of them to a single, web-accessible console.

After installing FORMULA, both MIS and network management staff can view the status of all enterprise resources --down to the device level-- through any Java-enabled web browser.

FORMULA's Integration Engine normalizes the data and commands of most popular legacy and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc.  management applications. Currently FORMULA supports HP OpenView(tm) Network Node Manager, Tivoli TEC(tm), Tivoli NetView(tm), BMC (BMC Software, Inc., Houston, TX, www.bmc.com) A leading supplier of software that supports and improves the availability, performance, and recovery of applications in complex computing environments.  Max/Enterprise(tm), and Cabletron SPECTRUM(R).

the detailed configuration, historical (performance) and real-time information about the elements managed by these systems. Management commands or responses are also conveyed transparently to the underlying systems.

"FORMULA's technology is entirely vendor-neutral," said John W. Cocula, MOS President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . "It presents a rapid, tactical solution to the common problems of fragmented network and systems management. FORMULA users can consolidate their network management consoles, normalize information from different systems, and gain the capability of remote service level management," he added.

TSR is the second major paging company to adopt the MOS vendor-neutral paradigm.

Managed Object Solutions, Inc., of Fairfax, VA, is the originator of vendor-neutral, fully Java-compliant network and systems integration products.
