), the world's largest dedicated semiconductor foundry, has raised the bar for analog/RF design support by delivering the most comprehensive set of analog and RF design kits in the foundry industry. Through its alliance with seven of the leading analog EDA (1) (Electronic Design Automation) Using the computer to design, lay out, verify and simulate the performance of electronic circuits on a chip or printed circuit board.  tool providers, TSMC has simplified analog design support for its industry-leading mixed mode and RF processes.

"The demand for new designs in wireless systems, networking, multimedia and other applications continues to grow," said Dr. Genda Hu, vice president of corporate marketing for TSMC. "Simultaneously, product design cycles continue to shrink. Most of these products and applications contain analog circuitry, so analog and mixed-signal design tools must be capable of faster, more effective design. TSMC recognizes this need and has moved quickly to offer analog support to the design community."

The analog and RF design kit is created with TSMC process data ported to selected analog synthesis tool providers. TSMC's mixed-signal processes are the foundation for a variety of end-use products, including cell phones, networking equipment and Bluetooth devices. By supporting analog synthesis EDA tools, TSMC is helping designers to bring these application to market faster. These EDA tools automate analog component design procedures, including automatic analysis and layout generation, which together minimize silicon iterations; and retargeting of analog components to advanced semiconductor processes. TSMC shares critical mixed signal process information with IP and EDA tool providers, which include:
-- Antrim

-- Barcelona

-- Neolinear

To further expand its analog/radio frequency (RF) design kit offerings, TSMC is now releasing simulation models verified over the full frequency range for its 0.25-micron and 0.18-micron mixed-signal/RF CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) Pronounced "c-moss." The most widely used integrated circuit design. It is found in almost every electronic product from handheld devices to mainframes.  processes for Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) RF simulation environment. The foundry will deliver ADS models for its 0.13-micron RF processes later this year.

In addition, TSMC has partnered with two of the leading EDA companies The external links in this article or section may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.  with expertise in substrate noise analysis to develop TSMC-specific substrate noise analysis offerings. By supporting leading substrate noise analysis EDA tools, TSMC is improving manufacturability for designers. The new substrate models are available with support for:

-- Cadence Design Systems (company) Cadence Design Systems - A company that sells electronic design automation software and services.

-- Simplex Solutions, Inc.---SubstrateStorm

Finally, TSMC has added two new analog design kits to complete its offering. Both analog design kits are specifically tailored to TSMC's 0.18- and 0.25-micron mixed mode/RF and logic technologies, eliminating the need for designers to develop these kits themselves. The design kits support TSMC technology files, SPICE models, and design rules for MiM capacitors, varactors, inductors and resistors, all seamlessly coupled to the analog design kits. Linked together, the analog design kits and TSMC technology files can help companies achieve much quicker tape-outs. The TSMC design kits support analog design environments from:

-- Cadence cadence, in music, the ending of a phrase or composition. In singing the voice may be raised or lowered, or the singer may execute elaborate variations within the key.  Custom IC Design Solution

-- Mentor Graphics Mentor Graphics, Inc (NASDAQ: MENT) is a US-based multinational corporation dealing in electronic design automation (EDA) for electrical engineering and electronics, as of 2004, ranked third in the EDA industry it helped create.  A/MS IC Design Tools

With this development, TSMC and its EDA alliance partners again set the foundry industry standard by delivering advanced design kits that accelerate time-to-market.
