TSI Terminal Systems Inc. Goes Live in Vancouver, British Columbia with the Navis Solutions.Canada's Largest Container Terminal Operator Implements Navis[TM] SPARCS Terminal Operating System, Navis Express[R] and Navis WebAccess[R] at Deltaport Container Terminal OAKLAND, Calif. -- Navis, a Zebra Technologies company (NASDAQ:ZBRA) and the world's first company to automate marine terminal operating systems (TOS), announced today that TSI Terminal Systems Inc. (TSI) has implemented its Navis[TM] SPARCS Terminal Operating System, Navis Express[R] and Navis WebAccess[R] at TSI's Deltaport facility, the largest container terminal in the Port of Vancouver, British Columbia. In addition to replacing its in-house terminal operating system with SPARCS, TSI also opted for Express and WebAccess. After months of planning and testing, the complete implementation went live on March 30. "This was a 'big bang' operation at a very busy terminal, meaning that there was no room for failure," said Peter Miedema, Chief Information Officer at GCT Global Container Terminals, Inc. "I am happy to report that all elements of the system were up and running quite smoothly as soon as we threw the switch. Six weeks into the mission, there are always some things to improve, but overall all systems are humming along beautifully here at Deltaport." TSI selected Navis software for its proven reliability and ability to grow with expanding operations. Studies suggest that container traffic on the west coast of North America could triple by 2020, with Vancouver capturing a significant share of the increased volume. SPARCS, Express and WebAccess will help TSI increase both volume and productivity at its Deltaport container terminal. "We are proud to have our product and services chosen by TSI. Working with the Deltaport team, we have completed one of our most complex and sophisticated implementations to date," says Deane Stuart, Navis' Vice President of Sales for Maritime, Americas. "Thanks to their professionalism and methodical planning for each phase of the implementation, SPARCS, Express and Web Access are now in full operation, and TSI is strategically positioned for robust future growth." Navis Express[R] Express extends control over data management by automating bookings, billing, data exchange and reporting functions, all while capturing a complete history of transactions and work. Navis WebAccess[R] Whether it is quickly and accurately receiving the status of an import container, or pre-advising a future gate transaction to validate all business rules prior to arriving at the terminal, WebAccess provides real-time, online access to a full range of operational information.
