Work on the design and specification phase of this 22-month, firm fixed price contract is being performed in TRW's field office next to Los Angeles City Hall, with a core staff of 11 TRW and subcontractor employees and four customer technical engineers. This project is part of the City's $235 million Proposition M communications system upgrade for the LAPD. TRW's responsibilities for the new communications system include the design of two new dispatch center facilities, which will be located in the metropolitan and San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills. areas of the City. TRW's teammates on this contract include three Los Angeles-based companies: DMJM DMJM Daniel, Mann, Johnson, & Mendenhall (architecture, engineering, and construction services firm) will perform architectural and engineering design services for the two new facilities.
